CNY Day1 visiting day!

CNY Day1 visiting day!

its day 1 of chinese new yr~ as usual, we would meet up with my relatives from my dad's side. met up at GoodWoodPark Hotel and had Hi-Tea as usual. food was alright, but i felt the variety is lesser compared to in the past. and as each yr passes, there are lesser and lesser people joining in the reunion due to work etc.

Happy Chinese New Yr to one and all!! =)

Happy Chinese New Yr to one and all!! =)

hereby wishing all a prosperous, OX-picious (auspicious) and healthy yr ahead! Gong Xi Fa Cai! Xin Nian Kuai Le! Nian Nian You Yu!

Happy NIU 牛(OX) Year!!

its 3.52am right now and i just cant get to slp...insomnia again....its suppose to be a happy and festive season..but somehow im not exactly looking forward to it...somehow it always marks some negative happenings coming my way....i've got a couple of bad CNY and im really afriad to encounter anymore for this yr or for the years to come...'its a new yr...everything starts a new..' this phrase have got quite an impact to me as it flashes back some bad memories... its a new yr for the chinese and everyone is hoping this yr would be better than the previous yr...same applies to me..i do hope my future yrs would be better too..and i certainly hope 2009 would be better for me too...

some of the gd stuff about chinese new yr is that we get to buy and wear new clothes (which aint something special for me since im quite a shopaholic and buys new clothes quite frequently! =p), we get to collect 'ang baos'(red packets) while visiting (tts if we've yet to get married! so its gd im still considered single in terms of marital status! haa~), we get to eat some of the yummy CNY goodies, and we dont have to work as its a public holiday! weeee~

and some of the bad stuff would be to have to do lotsa spring cleaning which is really tiring and exhausting especially for me since i've got lotsa stuff on hand to do beside having to work and study too~ sighh.. plus we'll spend lotsa money buying new clothes and stuff, on our hair to have a new look for CNY, etc.

anyway i've better force myself to slp for now, as i'll have to follow my parents for visiting session tomorrow~

as emptiness creeps by this very night...im really afraid.....really....

Reunion Dinner on Chinese New Yr Eve!

Reunion Dinner on Chinese New Yr Eve!

its a practice, culture or tradition, that the chinese have a family reunion dinner on the night of chinese new yr's eve! for my family, its also the same. as usual, we had steamboat dinner at home accompanied by some home cooked food, 'yu sang', soft drinks and wine! =)

i feel its a really fruitful and meaningful thing as it builds and strengthens family bonding! =) only down side to it is theres lotsa preparations to be done, washing up and also lotsa cleaning up etc.

this year we also have a new family member to join us in our lovely family reunion dinner, and thats non other then our precious lil Muffin! on top of that, my beloved lil bro is out from camp for the chinese new yr as well! =)

CNY shopping at Chinatown!

CNY shopping at Chinatown!

its the time of the yr again..Chinese or Lunar New yr! during this time, Chinatown in Singapore is always packed with people rushing for last min shopping of CNY goodies and stuff, etc...i've been there a couple of yrs, and without a doubt, i went again this yr. but unlike every other yr, i personally feel that this year the crowd isnt as scary as every other yr.. there were fewer people ard, crowds aint as aggressive and not many varieties of stores ard..1 reason i said tt is cause i couldnt find my favourite bubble tea being sold anywhere as i was kinda having cravings for it! *sulks* boo~ and even with lesser people, parking was another headache for us (me, baby, phyllis, adrian, celina, remi, junhao, jialiang) as we took quite awhile, driving ard just to look for a decent lot to park the car.

anyway aside from that, we didnt buy much stuff there..bought some snacks to eat along the way, namely a couple of my fave are the, 'muah chi' and 'kueh tu tu'...we bought a ice stick and a cup of peach ice blend on the way as well...and i only bought a cute figurine of 'kiki and lala' that would light up in different shades of colours! =) find it pretty cute and couldnt resist but buy it! =)
