The concept of ‘combination hair’ is similar to that of ‘combination skin’, where hair condition fro m the same person is not uniform from root to tip. People with combination hair usually have oily roots and dry ends. Consumers are not familiar with the term ‘combination hair’ and no other haircare brand has talked about it. Essential wants to take this chance to educate consumers about this concept and bring to their attention that they may have this condition and new Essential is the solution to their problem.

People with combination hair currently do not have one haircare product which they can use to solve both problems of oily roots and dry ends. Using a rich moisturizing product to care for their dry ends usually ends up having too much product buildup on their scalp, resulting in a heavy, oily scalp. Using a light, clarifying product to c are for their oily scalp will then cause their ends to be even drier. As a result, people with combination hair will either have only one out of the two problems solved, or they have to rotate between using a rich moisturizing product and a light clarifying product to achieve a balance.

How to Choose the Correct Treatment and Hair Mask for your Hair Type

People with very dry/damaged hair should use the richest formula Nourishing Breakage Defense (orange) variant for treatment and mask while the rest can use the Moisturizing Frizz Free (pink) variant which is comparatively lighter.

**Point to note: DO NOT apply treatment/mask on your scalp. Apply to hair ends only.**

(FYI to make a fair review, I stopped using my other hair oil products for a week before I tried using this)

BEFORE - My hair was dull and dry, my scalp was oily and itchy, and I had bad tangles and very dry ends.

AFTER - My hair is more manageable, smoother, lighter, bouncier, softer and looks more radiant. I could easily comb through without much tangles and the dry ends are much softer as well. And my hair is also less frizzy! And most importantly my scalp is significantly less oily and less itchy and I believe it should improve after more washes and conditioning! :)

And just like its predecessors, the NEW range also smells sooooo GOOOODDDD!! I TOTALLY LOVE IT!! After just 1 wash, I can already feel and see the difference!! Now after using it for 3 days, I am pretty sure this is going to be on my grocery list when buying my daily essentials. Super effective, super good. Longer lasting oil control and soft smooth hair with no tangles after 3 washes!! How awesome is that!!
